Notre Dame Football vs. Purdue: 3 Boilermakers who must be stopped
Jack Plummer
Finally, we come to the man behind everything the Boilermakers like to do on offense, and that is starting quarterback Jack Plummer. In his first season as the full-time starter for Purdue, Plummer has become a star, throwing for over 550 yards and six touchdowns against zero interceptions through the team’s first two wins.
Standing six-foot-5, Plummer has that NFL size that scouts like to see, and while he is not super-athletic, he can get the job done with his feet if need be. The Irish have not been great on defense this season, and Plummer is extremely accurate, a combination that could lead to a ton of yards for the junior signal-caller on Saturday.
This is a Purdue team that is coming into South Bend sitting at 2-0, so they are not going to be a pushover. They did lose their starting running back to UConn, so that is something they have to figure out heading into Saturday’s matchup, but if they have to throw all day, they have the quarterback to do so.
