The Notre Dame football team has an elite NFL prospect in Kyle Hamilton, but could he end up in the top-3 of the 2022 NFL Draft.

A few weeks back, Notre Dame football lost their star safety, Kyle Hamilton, to a knee injury, and he has not returned since. In fact, based on what we are hearing from Brian Kelly, there is a good chance that we may not see Hamilton the rest of the way, even if the Irish make it to the College Football Playoff.

Still, while that is a devastating blow for this Irish defense, it should affect his draft status, where he is widely considered a top-5 pick heading into next April’s draft. As we inch closer to the draft, the real question is whether or not Hamilton is one of the first three names called by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.

Notre Dame football star lands at No. 3 overall

In the latest mock draft by Joe Broback over at Pro Football Network, the safety for the Irish does in fact land in the top-3. In his mock, Hamilton goes No. 3 overall to the New York Jets, a team that could certainly use his help in a big way.

New York is one of the worst teams in football but does have a defensive-minded head coach, making them a favorable destination for a player with Hamilton’s skill set. The Jets also have some playmakers on that side of the ball, including C.J.Mosley and Quinnen Williams, so Hamilton would be a part of a nice core of players on defense.

Of course, where Hamilton lands does not matter, as he is an impact player who is going to be a star at the next level. Safety has become a premium position in the NFL, especially with the way teams love to pass nowadays, and Hamilton is someone who is going to come in and make an impact right away.
