Notre Dame football: 3 Keys to victory against Stanford in Week 13

Attack deep

The Notre Dame football team is getting the job done on offense through the air, and on the ground, but one thing I would like to see Saturday night is more shots downfield. The Irish suddenly have a plethora of deep options in Braden Lenzy, Kevin Austin Jr., and true freshman Lorenzo Styles Jr., making this offense multi-faceted.

Jack Coan has done a great job being efficient with the football since the bye week and is playing like the signal-caller that led Wisconsin to a Big Ten title game a few years back. He is confident, knows this offense, and it seems that offensive coordinator Tommy Rees has full confidence in him as well.

Early on against Stanford, the Irish should look to get the ball down the field, as it will not only create big plays but will soften this Cardinal defense. Coan has proven he can throw it deep to his targets, and a big play on the road will go a long way in silencing this Stanford Stadium crowd.
