Notre Dame football: How to watch 2021 Early Signing Day
By Brad Weiss
The Notre Dame football can finally get their commits to sign on the dotted line starting Wednesday, and here is all the information you need.
The Notre Dame football team is currently preparing to take on the Oklahoma State Cowboys on New Years Day, but Wednesday is also as important for the future of the program. Wednesday starts the Early Signing period for college football, a time when we will see if those who have committed to the Irish program actually put pen to paper and sign their National Letter of Intent.
Notre Dame football: When is early signing day?
National Early Signing Day will begin on Wednesday, December 15, and it will be a three-day event through the 17th, which is Friday.
How is early signing day different from national signing day?
National Signing Day will take place in February, and that is the final day that student-athletes can sign with a school. Early Signing Day allows coaches to fill out their roster early, while also enabling student-athletes to enroll in school early, starting not only their studies but also their college football career.
Who are the top uncommitted recruits?
A few uncommitted recruits to keep an eye on, even though Notre Dame football is not a finalist for their services are Omari Abor, a four-star edge rusher from Texas, and tight end Jake Johnson, who de-committed from LSU once Brian Kelly got the job there. There are five-star talents still out there too, like DE Marvin Jones Jr., and cornerback Domani Jackson.
Devin Moore, a former Notre Dame commit, is still looking for a place to play his college ball, although the Irish are one of two finalists with the University of Florida. Another former Notre Dame commit, C.J. Williams has also opened back up his recruitment, though he is expected to sign with Lincoln Riley and USC.
How to watch early signing day?
On Wednesday, we will get to see early on if the commits that are likely headed to South Bend will sign, and then, later on, ESPN2 will have two hours of coverage from 3 pm ET to 5 pm ET. There, the experts will go into great detail on some of the big commitments, as well as the big surprises, as they stack different programs’ classes against each other.
The Notre Dame football team is expected to bring in an extremely talented class starting tomorrow, but watch out for any surprises that may be coming their way. Freeman and this program are certainly headed in the right direction, and this is just another step along the way to what could be a championship journey.
