The Notre Dame football team put together an incredible collection of talent, but where does their 2022 recruiting class rank in the country?

If you were following our site during Wednesday’s activity, you would have a great idea of which players make up the 2022 recruiting class for the Notre Dame football program. This is a special group of players, and here, you can see which players signed on the dotted line, and how they are going to help this Irish program going forward.

The day kicked off on a downer for the Irish, as they saw former commit Devin Moore commit to the Florida Gators. Later on in the day, Amorion Walker decided to go with Michigan State instead of the Irish, as the program continues to lose wide receiver talent this recruiting cycle.

However, in between those two losses was a lot of wins, as the Irish stockpiled talent for this 2022 recruiting class, the first under new head coach Marcus Freeman. The class was loaded with four-star talent, including the likes of Tyson Ford, Joshua Burnham, and Jaylen Sneed, three defensive players who are going to do special things under Freeman.

On offense, the Irish got a stellar quarterback in Steve Angeli from New Jersey, a shifty running back in Jadarian Price, and a collection of offensive line talent that is going to continue the narrative of the Irish being “Offensive Line U.”

Notre Dame football ranked No. 7 by Rivals

After the Early Signing Day commenced, we got a better look at where the Irish 2022 recruiting class ended up per rivals.com. The Irish, who held a top-5 class for much of the recruiting period, finished with the No. 7 class overall in 2022, behind the normal recruiting powerhouses like Alabama, Ohio State, and Georgia.

In the end, only Notre Dame and Kentucky were top-10 recruiting classes to not land a five-star player, but that does not mean that this class is not deep and talented.

This is going to be a special class of players entering the program, and it will be interesting to see if they can take the Irish to new heights. With a new and talented head coach at the helm, the Notre Dame football team could be in line for a national title in the near-future.
