Notre Dame football: Players who need big Fiesta Bowl to help draft status

Isaiah Foskey, Defensive End

During the 2021 NFL Draft, the Notre Dame football team saw two of their prime edge rushers get selected, as both Daelin Hayes and Ade Ogundeji started their NFL journeys. Both players were key to one of the best defenses in the country last season, and both should have solid careers at the next level.

In their place, the Irish needed someone to provide the kind of pass rush that this duo did in 2020, and it ended up being Isaiah Foskey who took over that role. Foskey was outstanding for the Irish in 2021, racking up ten sacks on the year, and bolstering his NFL Draft status on a week-to-week basis.

Now, with one more game left in the season, Foskey can make a real impact on a huge stage, setting himself up for the 2022 NFL Draft. He has still not announced whether or not he is going to declare early for the draft, but one more solid effort could be all he needs to prove he is ready for the next level.
