The Notre Dame football team should be elite in 2022, and their offensive line could end up being the best group in the entire country.

Though the 2021 season did not end as anyone on this Notre Dame football team would have liked, there was still a lot to love from this year’s team. We saw the emergence of Joe Alt at offensive tackle, taking over after a revolving door was created at left tackle with the injury to Blake Fisher in Week 1.

We also saw Andrew Kristofic step up in a big way at guard, helping solidify an offensive line that would play dominant football down the stretch. Those two players were key for a team that was floundering entering the bye week, but one that came out of the bye week on fire.

Now, we turn our attention to next season, when the Irish will open up their slate against a potential national title contender in the Ohio State Buckeyes. All eyes will be on the Irish in that matchup, as a win would not only solidify them as one of the best teams in the country but would give them a huge checkmark on a potential College Football Playoff resume.

The key for this Irish offense will be the offensive line, and it could be a group that brings home the Joe Moore Award.
