The Notre Dame football team is losing Myron Tagovailoa-Amosa to the 2022 NFL Draft, but one NFL team is getting a versatile defensive lineman.

While the Notre Dame football program saw a bunch of talent decide to forego the 2022 NFL Draft this offseason, one key member of the defense who is making the jump is Myron Tagovailoa-Amosa. Tagovailoa-Amosa had a stellar career in South Bend and showed that he can play in the interior of the defensive line and on the outside.

Looking ahead to the 2022 NFL Draft, Tagovailoa-Amosa is not seen as a top prospect at his position group, and many draft experts expect him to fall into Day 3. Some mock drafts have him as a potential fourth-round pick, but for the most part, he is expected to go within the 5-through-7 range.

Based on his skill set, it won’t matter where he is drafted, because all he needs is a chance to prove that he belongs.

Notre Dame football star could be a steal in 2022

During his time at Notre Dame, Tagovailoa-Amosa started out on the interior, before moving to the edge last season. At 6-foot-2, he has good size, and after losing a bunch of weight to go to the outside, he displayed a quick first step, and that is something he can definitely improve on at the next level.

He is also not afraid to get inside and bolster the run defense, and for any team at the NFL level, having a player who can do both, and for a cheap price tag as a Day 3 pick, he could end up being a real asset along the defensive line. Another key to Tagovailoa-Amosa is his motor, as he plays from whistle to whistle, and is strong in the upper body and with his hands.

The Irish may not be as represented in the 2022 NFL Draft, as many of their potential draft picks decided to go back to school for another season. Tagovailoa-Amosa will likely be a Day 3 pick this year, but he is going to latch on at the next level and could end up being a real steal.
