Notre Dame football: All-Irish 2022 NFL Mock Draft after the Combine

Round 3, Pick No. 78: Kevin Austin Jr., Cleveland Browns

If there was one player on this Notre Dame roster that improved his draft stock at the 2022 NFL Combine, it was wide receiver Kevin Austin Jr. The WR1 for the Irish in 2021, Austin went to Indianapolis trying to prove he was at least a Day 3 pick, but in the end, his stock skyrocketed, and I believe he will be gone by the time Day 3 kicks off.

Austin Jr. showed the kind of speed that could make him a WR1 at the next level, and his 900 receiving yards last season showed what he can do if he can stay healthy. After his display at the Combine, teams are going to be hard-pressed to pass on him due to the competition he played against in college, and his overall raw athleticism.

The Cleveland Browns will be making wholesale changes at the wide receiver spot this offseason, and Austin has the talent to come in and make an impact right away. Cleveland used a second-round pick on a Notre Dame player last year, selecting linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, and in the third round in 2022, they select a playmaker in Austin.
