Notre Dame football: Irish have eyes on historic 2023 recruiting class
Can it happen?
In short, why not? The Irish have done a tremendous job on the recruiting trail so far, and with Freeman at the helm, their group of coaches are going out and putting on the full-court press to get the players they want.
If they continue to trend in this direction, the gap between them and the Alabama and Georgias of the world will continue to shrink. No longer are the Irish guaranteed for the No. 1 recruiting class among independent schools, but they are now a legitimate player on the national level for a top-5 overall class.
Moore is a real possibility, as is Tate, and with so many elite defensive players already on board for 2023, other players will likely follow.
The 2022 recruiting class was a special one, but that was a collaborative effort between Freeman and former head coach Brian Kelly. The 2023 class will be his first official class that he has worked on from the start, and based on who has committed, and who could be on the horizon, it could push this program to new heights.
