The Notre Dame football team has their work cut out for them this season, as they will take on two of the best quarterbacks in the country.

It will not be an easy slate for the Notre Dame football team in 2022, as they begin their question for a College Football Playoff appearance on the road against Ohio State. The Buckeyes figure to be one of the best teams in the country this season, and a possible national title contender, so it does not get much tougher than that out of the gate.

Also, the Buckeyes have one of the best quarterbacks in the country, and he is not the only elite quarterback this Irish defense will face in 2022.

Recently, 247Sports.com put out a ranking of the top-25 quarterbacks in the country, and the Notre Dame football team was not represented. The Irish currently have a battle going for the quarterback spot, so it would be nearly impossible to have one of them ranked here when they are not the presumed starter already.

However, the Irish defense will see a few of these signal-callers, including two of the top-3.

Notre Dame football to take on top QBs in 2022

CJ Stroud is considered the No. 2 quarterback in this ranking behind No. 1 Bryce Young, and both are legitimate Heisman Trophy-winning candidates. The No. 3 ranked quarterback on this list is C.J. Williams, who starred at Oklahoma under head coach Lincoln Riley, and now will follow him to USC, who the Irish close their regular season against.

Both men are expected to lead their teams into the top-10 this season, and possibly be one of the final teams standing in terms of the CFP, so these will be incredible tests for this Irish defense.

Also rated in the top-25 was Phil Jurkovec, a former Notre Dame football quarterback who the Irish will take on the week before the USC matchup to close the regular season. Those are two very good quarterbacks to end the season against, so the test will be on the defensive backfield to prove they are playoff-ready.
