The Notre Dame football team has plenty of weapons on offense, making them a very balance team heading into the 2022 college football season.

When it comes to the 2022 Notre Dame football team, a lot of the excitement is focused on the defense. The Irish have some dynamic playmakers on all three levels, and as many as three first-round picks could come from that group.

However, the offense is no slouch either, as they boast the best tight end in the country, and return all five starters from a dominant 2021 offensive line. All told, this offense is going to move the ball with consistency, and it should be a multi-faceted attack based on all the playmakers they have.

Michael Mayer is the big name, and rightfully so, as he could be the highest-drafted tight end in the NFL since Kyle Pitts went to Atlanta. He figures to be the No. 1 option for whoever the quarterback is, but the talent certainly does not stop there.

Yes, the Irish have to pick between Tyler Buchner and Drew Pyne still to see who the starting quarterback will be, but whoever wins the job will have plenty of weapons at his disposal.

Notre Dame should be able to run the ball, and attack through the air, thanks to Mayer, and a host of talented wideouts. Looking at the roster, the strength in terms of depth is at the running back spot, where four guys figure to play a big role this season.

Notre Dame football is loaded at running back

Logan Diggs got a lot of playing time as a true freshman last year, and another second-year running back, Audric Estime, is ready for his turn. Chris Tyree is a do-everything back who has big-time playmaking ability as well, while true freshman Jadarian Price should see carries too.

Offensive coordinator Tommy Rees should be able to hurt teams in multiple ways, and if Buchner gets the starting job, he is also adept at making plays with his feet, as well as his arm.
