The Notre Dame football team is dominating the recruiting trail for the 2023 cycle, proving they have the assets to bring in No. 1 classes.

For the Notre Dame football program, the narrative for years has been that they cannot bring in elite recruiting classes. Sure, they usually finish up in the top-10, but we are talking top-3 groups, a task that new head coach Marcus Freeman has taken head-on.

In fact, when looking at the classes for the 2023 and 2024 cycles, one program is listed as No. 1, and that program is Notre Dame football. Incredibly, Freeman has his program at the top of both year’s classes as we get closer to the 2022 college football season, a true testament to him and his outstanding staff.

Over the past few days, Notre Dame football has been more than a player in the recruiting scene, they have been downright dominant. Over the past six days, the Irish have gotten commitments from five four-star players, including some that are rated as top-100 for the class. That is an incredible haul for Freeman and his staff, and he may just be getting started.

Notre Dame football dominating recruiting

The truth is, Freeman is putting together a historic class in his first season as the program’s head coach, one that could end up being the highest-rated in program history. He and his staff continue to stack elite talent on what seems to be a daily basis, and when all is said and done, the haul may be the best Notre Dame football has ever seen.

We knew Freeman was an elite recruiter when he came over from Cincinnati, a program he helped build into a College Football Playoff contender with very few assets. Now, with the backing of the Notre Dame football program, Freeman has the kind of recruiting tools he needs, and it appears the sky is the limit.
