The Notre Dame football program landed an elite wide receiver in Jaden Greathouse, and with the commitment, their 2023 class is back to No. 1 overall.

On Friday, the Notre Dame football team landed another elite player for the 2023 cycle, bringing in Texas wide receiver Jaden Greathouse. A four-star talent who could end up being a five-star when all is said and done, Greathouse is another in a long list of recruits Marcus Freeman and his staff have landed in recent weeks.

The Irish are not only putting together a solid recruiting class for 2023, what they have done seemingly every year, but they have raised the bar. No longer is the goal a top-10 class, as, under Freeman, Notre Dame football is becoming one of the elite of the elite on the recruiting trail.

With the addition of Greathouse, the Irish have brought in 20 new faces via the 2023 recruiting class, and they seem to just be getting started. The 2023 class is Freeman’s first as the head coach of this illustrious program, and when all is said and done, could be the best class ever in the history of Notre Dame football.

Notre Dame football back to No. 1 overall for the 2023 cycle

Looking at the class ranking over at 247sports.com, the Notre Dame football team jumped past the Ohio State Buckeyes, making their way back to the No. 1 spot in the country. They had held the No. 1 spot earlier this summer but were leapfrogged by Ohio State in recent weeks.

Now, the Irish are back atop, and they could end up staying there if they continue to stack the caliber of talent they have this summer.

Of course, in the middle of July, all eyes are starting to turn to the start of practices, as the Irish look to capitalize on a solid 2021 season and push the bar even higher. Can Freeman continue his recruiting success on the sidelines? That remains to be seen, but one thing is for sure, the talent in South Bend continues to rise and the future is as bright as ever.
