The Notre Dame Football team learned a lot about itself on Saturday night inside a hostile Horseshoe environment, despite a 21-10 defeat.

Viewers of this weekend’s biggest college football game, Ohio State and Notre Dame, discovered a lot about both teams. However, the first game represents a snapshot in time that may indicate the direction of the upcoming season.

Following the infamous “Texas is back” exclamation by Joe Tessitore, fans left thinking both the Longhorns and Irish would have great seasons. After a 4-8 campaign, that did not happen for the Notre Dame football team.

After struggling to get started against Duke in 2020, an undefeated regular season campaign felt unlikely. The things learned from Saturday’s top 5 contest might be true of the upcoming year or complete anomaly.
