Notre Dame football: Early signing day – offensive commits
By Tyler Kruse
While today is technically considered the beginning of the early signing period, the regular signing period is February 1st. Naturally, though, Notre Dame football wants to secure its highly-touted offensive recruits as soon as possible.
Offensive commits for Notre Dame football

TE Cooper Flanagan
Out of all the stud commits Notre Dame football has on the offensive side of the ball, the wide receivers stand out the most. While the other guys are outstanding in their own right, the Irish have lacked consistency at the WR position for years. But, once again, the team has a group of prospects that could push for early playing time and have a massive impact on the program when all is said and done.
Kenny Minchey at quarterback was a substantial late-season addition, especially given the uncertainty in the room. Minchey is a unanimous top-15 quarterback in the nation and, in my eyes, a top-10 guy. In addition, Jeremiyah Love is one of the most talented athletes in the country and can slot in early for the team at RB or WR. Getting his talent on the field early should be a massive priority for the Irish.
Cooper Flanagan committed to the Irish in September of 2021. Since then, Alabama and others have been pushing hard to flip him. He’s a top tight-end talent who should be one of the next great Notre Dame football tight ends. I think the offensive line unit is full of physical and athletic blockers led by Charles Jagusah, who should be a unanimous 5-star, in my opinion.
Losing guys like Dylan Edwards and Jayden Limar may look bad on the surface, but it was nearly inevitable when you dig a little deeper. With an absolutely stacked running back room as it stands and Jeremiyah Love the clear standout of the trio, those two would’ve been hard-pressed to find time at Notre Dame. Not to mention, Aneyas Williams committed to the class of 2024 and is better than them combined, with all due respect.
The team is in excellent shape on the offensive side of the ball moving forward, and it’s easy to see why. There are instant impact players and guys that can have huge careers as Notre Dame football players long term. Coaches Freeman and Rees have themselves a great class.
