The Notre Dame men’s basketball team could not get on track as they lost again; to Boston College by a score of 70-63. The men’s basketball team is slowly letting postseason chances slip away if they don’t turn things around soon. However, the Notre Dame football team had some standouts perform in the Under Armour All-American game and performed quite nicely.

Jeremiyah Love looked like the best running back on the field and had 3 carries for 15 yards. While that doesn’t sound overly impressive, he averaged 5 yards per carry and looked explosive getting to the edge. Others struggled mightily to gain traction on their runs, including Alabama signee Richard Young, who fumbled twice. The one-time Irish and Kansas State commit Dylan Edwards also had a few nice plays.

Braylon James had a handful of catches on the day and looked great against some of the top defensive backs in the nation. James had the speed and size to prove he belonged on the field with the best of them. While he’s undoubtedly a bit rawer than some of the other pass catchers to attend the game, James has as bright a future as anyone.

Jaiden Ausberry was also in attendance, and while he only recorded one tackle on the evening, he looked impressive. He has the speed to keep up with receivers and tight ends in the middle of the field and looks physical at the point of attack. Drayk Bowen isn’t the only linebacker that could push for early playing time in South Bend.

Sam Hartman has yet to decide where he will be playing quarterback next. That said, nothing leads me to believe he will end up somewhere other than a part of Notre Dame football; I still expect him to be Irish.

While a timeline hasn’t officially been given, an announcement could come any day. I expect one before the end of the week, likely tomorrow or Friday. Landing Hartman would be a massive win for the Irish to start this off-season.
