The Notre Dame football team is trying to keep up its momentum when it comes to landing some of the best quarterbacks in the country.

Notre Dame football already has two of the best quarterbacks in the next two classes. Is it possible that the Fighting Irish could also land one of the best signal callers of the 2026 class? Marcus Freeman, Gerard Parker and Gino Guidugli are certainly going to give it the old college try.

On Wednesday evening, 2026 quarterback Will Griffin announced he’d officially received an offer from Notre Dame football. The offer is important because despite Griffin being years away from pulling the trigger on a college, plenty of big-time programs are already after him.

Griffin, a 4-star prospect out of Tampa, Florida already has 11 offers. In addition to Notre Dame football, some biggies like Michigan, Ohio State, Florida, Florida State and Ole Miss have come calling.

If Notre Dame football wants to get to the top of that rather impressive list, it’s got its work cut out for it. Griffin just took an unofficial visit to The Swamp to check out the Gators and it’s not hard to imagine that Florida head coach is telling the young signal caller how he could boost an offense that has struggled this season.

Notre Dame football stockpiling quarterbacks

Will Griffin is obviously already one of the Fighting Irish’s top 2026 class targets, though its hard to tell just much headway they’re going to make right off the bat.

Notre Dame football has been stockpiling some very talented young quarterbacks in the last few recruiting classes. While Sam Hartman is the man this year, there’s some serious talent on deck as well.

The Irish are hauling in CJ Carr, a Michigan native, 4-star prospect in the 2024 class. For the 2025 class, Marcus Freeman has already secured the commitment of Deuce Knight, who has been doing plenty of peer recruiting on his own.

That of course, doesn’t mean that Notre Dame football won’t go hard after Will Griffin, who projects by most recruiting services to be among the Top 100 recruits in the class.
