The Notre Dame Football team has a wide receiver problem but there is one player that just entered the portal who could help fix that problem.

It turns out that Sam Hartman wasn’t able to revitalize the Notre Dame Football offense the way the fanbase had hoped. But that doesn’t mean that Marcus Freeman and company shouldn’t be looking to the transfer portal to try and fix what ails them.

It isn’t hard to see that quite a bit of what ails the Notre Dame Football team is rooted in the lack of wide receiver production. There was some hope that when Jaden Greathouse and Jayden Thomas came back from their injuries. But their impact has been less than stellar.

It’s looking as though the Irish need to add some more bodies. And while their 2024 recruiting class is great, Freeman and company might need to add some more proven commodities.

Notre Dame Football should pursue Boise State wide receiver

A Boise State Bronco receiver who just entered the portal is going to be one of the hottest commodities out there. Eric McAlister has quit the team, despite the fact that there are four more games in the season.

It’s also worth noting that McAlister is not quitting because of a lack of playing time. He leads the team with 47 catches for 873 yards and 5 touchdowns. It seems likely that had he stuck it out for the season, he almost certainly would have had 1,000 yards.

But he’s that desperate to go somewhere else. McAlister will be entering the portal when it opens on December 4. And Notre Dame Football should be ready to snap him up. He’s the kind of talent that Gerad Parker and company are missing.

McAlister is the kind of talent that can supercharge an offense.

Sam Hartman might not be around South Bend next year. However, it’s likely that Notre Dame Football will go to the transfer portal for its QB in 2024. It would be nice if they could get whoever the new QB is, some talented toys to play with.
