The Notre Dame Football team isn’t headed to a New Year’s Six Bowl with its latest loss, but a bowl game could still be fun to watch.

The Notre Dame Football faithful are a bit crest fallen this week. The Fighting Irish’s loss to Clemson last Saturday left a bad taste in everyone’s mouth.

It also likely took the Golden Domers out of the New Year’s Six bowl projections, especially with how bad the last two games are supposed to be.

There are bound to be a few Notre Dame Football fans who believe it’s not even worth going to a bowl if it’s not one of the biggies. However, there are plenty of people who have a more accurate viewpoint of bowls.

Teams get more practices together. Coaches get to coach more. And teams that go to bowls tend to be better the next year because they were around each other more.

So let’s all root for a bowl. And if the latest bowl projections are correct, then it looks like at least the Notre Dame Football team is going to have an interesting opponent. Most of the most well known analysts are still projecting the Irish to different bowls, but a lot of them have them playing the same opponent.

Notre Dame Football has an intriguing opponent in bowl projections

CBS Sports’ Brad Crawford, Mark Schlabach of ESPN and Athlon Sports all have Notre Dame slated for the ReliaQuest Bowl and their opponent is the LSU Tigers.

Kyle Bonagura also has Notre Dame slated for a matchup against LSU, but he has the two teams squaring off in the Gator Bowl.

Obviously, if Notre Dame Football has to go to a lesser bowl, then facing off against Brian Kelly would be one heck of a way to finish up the season.

This isn’t the first time that Kelly has been slated to see his old team in the postseason. Considering how many bridges he’s burned in South Bend, it will always be nice to try and beat him down. Especially in a season that hasn’t gone the way Notre Dame Football fans hoped it would.
