It appears that Notre Dame football star Audric Estime has taken not being a semifinalist for the Doak Walker award personally.

Audric Estime currently ranks 15th in the country in rushing yards with 1,103. He is 7th in the country in rushing touchdowns with 14. So why isn’t he listed as a semifinalist for the Doak Walker Award? That’s a good question that we’re not likely to get an actual answer on.

One question that does seem like it was answered this week is how the Notre Dame football star would take the news. It appears that he’s taking it personally. Much to the chagrin of the Stanford Cardinal who have to try and stop him next.

Not long after the Doak Walker semifinalists were announced, Estime took to social media and let his feelings be known. The running back showed his usual class by not ranting and raving. He didn’t call anyone out or complain.

Instead he seemingly made it clear that he’s going to show people he deserved to be in the picture for a bit longer. He did it with one word:

Notre Dame football star Audric Estime takes Doak Walker snub personally

Admittedly I’m reading into his post. It’s possible he was talking about something else.

Maybe he was even talking about coming back for next season. That’s something that’s been a big topic of conversation of late. But the timing certainly seems to be in response to the list being released.

He’s not the only one who’s taking it personally.

Notre Dame football fans waited no time at all to express their frustration over Audric Estime being snubbed.

It wasn’t just Fighting Irish fans who believe that Estime needed to be on the list of Doak Walker candidates. PFF currently has him as the best graded overall running back in the country.

While we wait to see what Audric Estime decides for his future, he’s got at least two more games with Notre Dame football and it seems extremely likely that he’s going to show those putting the ballot together how wrong they were.
