Even in the middle of the football season, Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman is still putting an emphasis on recruiting. The Fighting Irish have welcomed many recruits so far to their home games this season, and the USC game is going to have yet another Georgia legacy in the stands, looking at the Blue and Gold.
Freeman has shown he has a knack of getting legacies from other schools in his building and even getting commitments from them. Devin Fitzgerald, the son of NFL legend Larry Fitzgerald, chose the Fighting Irish over his father's Alma Mater, Pitt. Other players have also chosen different paths from their fathers, and now, for David Jacobs Jr., he has the chance to do the same.
Jacobs Jr., a five-star EDGE out of Blessed Trinity Catholic in Roswell, Georgia, has announced he is set to visit Notre Dame for the USC game. Jacobs Jr. is the son of David Jacobs Sr., who played for Georgia from 1999 to 2001, also on the defensive line.
The Georgia native is ranked high in the Class of 2027, and according to 247Sports, he is the No. 1 player in the Class of 2027, the No. 1 EDGE rusher in the class, and the No. 1 player in the state of Georgia. According to 247Sports Composite rankings, he is the No. 11 player in the Class of 2027, the No. 3 EDGE rusher in the class, and the No. 2 player in the state of Georgia.

It'll be the Georgia legacy's third visit to South Bend this year — and second time this fall 👀

Now, of course, Jacobs Jr. has made his trips to Athens already to visit his dad's old school, and he went when Georgia lost to Alabama on their home field, but he walked away loving the school and feeling very welcomed.
While he hasn't officially announced his top schools, Jacobs Jr. has been visiting a lot of SEC schools, including Georgia, Texas A&M, Alabama, and Tennessee. He has mentioned other schools like FSU and USC a lot, and now maybe Notre Dame will be added to the mix.
This isn't the first Georgia legacy to take a visit to Notre Dame, as Thomas Davis Jr. did so before as well, and his father, Thomas Davis Sr., also played at Georgia. However, Davis Jr. chose the Fighting Irish over the Bulldogs, so there is a pattern beginning to emerge with Freeman and his recruiting tactics.
While Jacobs Jr. is probably still far from committing to a school, he is picking a good game to attend, as Notre Dame and USC always put on a show.
