Don't overlook him!

The Notre Dame football program is looking to get back to the success that they had last season, just without the ending that they had in the National Championship game. Head coach Marcus Freeman will be looking to show that least season was no fluke. Prove that last season was just the beginning of the program for the Fighting Irish.

There is one player that college football analyst J.D. PicKell is vouching for Notre Dame fans to go all-in on; wide receiver Jaden Greathouse (and PicKell could not be more right).

Notre Dame football's Jaden Greathouse has big opportunity to step up in 2025

As one of Notre Dame’s secret weapons heading into 2025, Greathouse has a big opportunity to prove PicKell right, who is saying that by the end of the 2025 college football season, Greathouse will be a “great house-hold name”. Heck, he might even be able to become one of the best all-around this upcoming season.

Greathouse led the Fighting Irish in receiving yards (592) and touchdowns (4). That was with Riley Leonard who is now in the NFL. So, maybe there could be a switch in production for better or for worse. However, to PicKell's point, Greathouse is a bigger slot receiver who can surely make life easier for expected starter, CJ Carr. Having Carr should be an improvement for Greathouse as Riley Leonard was not a vertical-throw type of quarterback.

Even though Greathouse didn’t exactly show a lot of flash throughout the entire season, sometimes it’s all about what you can do in the biggest moments. He stood out in the Orange Bowl against Penn State and in the National Championship against Ohio State. Between those two games, Greathouse had 233 yards and 3 touchdowns off of 13 receptions. Putting up these kind of numbers against this type of competition shows us that Greathouse can step up in the biggest moments.

Much like PicKell, I firmly believe that Greathouse has a big chance to prove to the entire college football world that he can insert himself into the conversation as one of the best receivers in college. After a strong ending last season, he has the chance to pick up where he left off.
