The Notre Dame football team is in good standing for the College Football Playoffs. Not everyone is very happy about that. Miami Hurricanes fans are downright furious. While a former Fighting Irish great understands their frustration, Aaron Taylor likes where Marcus Freeman and his crew are sitting right now.
The former ND offensive lineman is now a CBS Sports analyst who talked about the Irish being No. 9 in the latest CFP rankings. At the same time, Miami is No. 13. There are plenty of 'Canes fans who believe their team should be ranked ahead of the Golden Domers because their team beat Freeman's in Week 1.
Taylor laid out the same rationale that the CFP chairman did. Miami is ranked behind Notre Dame because its losses were to unranked teams. Meanwhile, the Irish had close losses to two of the best programs in the country.

Notre Dame great Aaron Taylor doesn't agree with CFP committee, but loves their thinking
"Losses matter, right?" Taylor said on Tuesday night. "Lose less or lose well."
"Because you look at Notre Dame, who's sitting there in the nine-hole that's ahead of Miami. Miami's losses were to two teams that are currently unranked. Notre Dame's losses, again, to use the word ironic, one of which was 13 Miami."
"The other one is to one of three undefeated teams, and that's Texas A&M. So, in the eyes of the committee, Notre Dame has a better resume because they have better losses. And I'm not sure that's the world we want to live in, but I sure am glad it is."
