The time is now for Notre Dame football quarterback CJ Carr to prove to everyone that Marcus Freeman made the right call in announcing him as the starter. During fall camp, Carr was in a tight battle with Kenny Minchey, but he ultimately came out on top.
Come Sunday night, the pressure is going to be on for Carr against a stingy Miami defense. With that said, he's staying pretty level headed before kickoff and his family is making sure of that. This week, Carr shared some pretty great advice he got from his grandpa. These are some wise words if you ask us:

Notre Dame QB CJ Carr is ready to prove people wrong against the Miami defense
"He texted me after I got named (the starting quarterback)," Carr said. "He said that, 'football runs in the Carr family blood and that this is your moment - you're ready for this. Go out against Miami, attack and don't look back.' It's great to be able to talk to him just about life and football."
Leave it to Carr's grandpa to have Irish fans even more fired up for Sunday to get here. Carr indeed needs to go out against Miami, be aggressive with the ball in his hands and not second-guess himself. Will there be some hiccups in his first start? Sure.
That's always going to be expected when someone makes their starting debut on the road against a team like Miami. However, keep in mind that the Canes' defense was atrocious last year and Corey Hetherman was brought in to fix things. There will likely be some early bumps for him too.
Freeman is putting all of his trust in Carr to replace Riley Leonard, who is now with the Indianapolis Colts. Those are some big shoes to fill, but luckily Carr is going to have Jeremiyah Love by his side ready to take the ball and fly with it in his hands.
Love is one of the best running backs in the country and he'll come out of the gates hot vs. Miami. Carr will have confidence in Love leading the ground game, but he'll also be keeping his grandpa's words in mind as he looks to tear apart the Miami secondary.
