Drayk Bowen is given motivation for the 2025 season every time he looks at his phone

The National Championship loss gave Drayk Bowen all the motivation he needed for next season, and he even made it his phone lock screen.

The loss to Ohio State in the National Championship was tough on Notre Dame, but for Drayk Bowen, it took him even harder. On3's Jack Soble sat down with the Notre Dame linebacker and talked about the upcoming season, but made sure to touch on the title loss and how it motivates him going into next season, and Bowen's answer is probably one of the best you will ever hear.

You always hear about players from the losing side of a championship sitting around watching the trophy presentation, and Bowen did just last after losing to Ohio State, but he took it one step further. Bowen made the final score of the game his lock screen so that every time he looks at his phone, he is reminded of that game and the motivation it is giving him to get back there and finish the job.

"Every time I open my phone, I see the score," Bowen said. "That's something I can carry with me."

Bowen is returning for his third season with the Fighting Irish, and his 2024 season was clearly his best yet. In 2024, Bowen had 78 total tackles, 40 solo tackles, two passes defended, three forced fumbles, and one sack, helping lead Notre Dame's elite secondary.

Notre Dame is coming into the season with a chip on its shoulder

The entire Notre Dame team is ready to come into this season with a massive chip on its shoulder. Losing a championship is never easy, and every team vows they will get back, but this Notre Dame team truly is coming into this season angry and ready to finish the job.

With a favorable schedule, the Fighting Irish have the chance to do just that. Head coach Marcus Freeman did the work in the transfer portal, and the team itself is doing the work on the field and in the weight room to be ready for their comeback 2025 season.
