Former Notre Dame captain throws accurate shade at Brian Kelly for his LSU downfall

It is clear that former Notre Dame players are happy to see Brian Kelly gone.

Notre Dame is currently a Top 15 team in the country with a real possiblity to make the College Football Playoff after two early losses on the season. The LSU Tigers just lost their second game of the season and fell heavily in the rankings and now will have to work hard to maybe get a shot at the playoff.

If there is anything that Notre Dame fans are loving more than the win over No. 20 USC this past weekend, it is the downfall of LSU head coach Brian Kelly. The former Notre Dame coach has really fallen from grace since his times with the Fighting Irish, and Notre Dame fans can't get enough of it, and apparently neither can former players.

Former Notre Dame linebacker Mike Goolsby, who played for the Fighting Irish in the early 2000s, retweeted a post on X (formerly known as Twitter) about an LSU fan who is just done with Kelly as a head coach, saying that he takes all the fun out of being a Tigers fan.

Goolsby's response to the post was simply 'It be like that sometimes,' basically admitting that Notre Dame fans know that feeling all too well. Kelly did some good things with the Fighting Irish, like helping lead the 2012 to the BCS National Championship, but other than that, he just was never able to get the team further than that.

Kelly certainly can have a short fuse, especially when things are going the way he wants them to go. If a reporter asked the wrong question, they will get chewed out by Kelly from the microphone. If a player makes a mistake, Kelly turns 10 shades of red before he is done yelling at them.

Kelly just simply takes the fun out of the game of football wherever he is coaching. He always makes big promises and then nothing happens, so for LSU fans, the Fighting Irish fans get it, but LSU did decide to hire him.
