Former Notre Dame QB claps back at ESPN for despicable CFP shade

It looks like even former Notre Dame players are tired of hearing about this.

Notre Dame has not played a football game since November, and yet people still seem to be talking about the team. The Irish were snubbed from the College Football Playoff in favor of Miami, which is now heading to the National Championship. Even though Notre Dame fans didn't think Miami deserved to be in the CFP, they do have to give the Hurricanes their flowers now.

The Hurricanes should be feeling a little offended because whenever they are talked about, commentators and analysts have to say something about Notre Dame as well. Even when Miami won the Fiesta Bowl to go to the National Championship, ESPN host Nicole Briscoe had to take a shot at Notre Dame before even talking about the Hurricanes.

Notre Dame fans are getting tired of this, and even former players are getting annoyed with it as well. Former Notre Dame quarterback Malik Zaire even clapped back at ESPN.

Zaire makes a good point. Everyone is validating Miami with that Notre Dame win, and plus, why are the Irish still being talked about? The season ended a while ago for Notre Dame, so let's all just move on at this point.

Miami has proved they belonged in the CFP, even at the expense of Notre Dame

Had Notre Dame been in the 10-seed spot, they could very well be playing in the National Championship right now as well. The Irish were playing their best football of the season. However, at least with Miami making it in, it has to feel a little better that at least the team that got in over the Irish is successful.

It might have felt worse if Miami had been a one-and-done because then Notre Dame really should have been in over the Hurricanes.
