Notre Dame's spring practices have shown an entirely new Notre Dame team that is hungry for some revenge in 2026. Spring practice has been very kind to the Irish, with many players standing out, especially newer, younger players.

Freshmen such as wide receiver Devin Fitzgerlad have made some great plays, and cornerback Ayden Pouncey is the latest youngster to show off his skills.

During a red zone drill play, Pouncey undercut a route that would have resulted in a touchdown pass for the interception that probably would have been returned for six in a real game. Pouncey read the play expertly, and the whole team got in on the celebration of the young freshman's play.

Young talent has showen out for Notre Dame in spring football practices

Pouncey and Fitzgerald are not the only young players to make big plays during practice for Notre Dame. The youngsters on the offensive line have impressed offensive line coach Joe Rudolph, and he even spoke about their development a bit this week during media availability.

Sullivan Garvin has been working in at center, a position he has never played before, but has really progressed. Rudolph did say it is a process with Garvin at center right now, as he has good and bad days.

The same has been said about Grayson McKeogh and Charlie Tom. Freshman Tyler Merrill has been working through rehab from a shoulder injury, but has still been working hard in the ways he can. Rudolph seemed very positive about the growth of the young line, and it further proves Freeman's eye for talent.

Notre Dame is going to probably have a young secondary this next season, and Pouncey is earning his keep right now, as well as potentially a solid spot in the lineup. There is still a lot of time for players to make plays and develop before the start of the season, but Freeman has to be happy with what he is seeing.
