Notre Dame women's basketball has been on quite a roll as of late, winning five of its last six games, and star guard Hannah Hidalgo is a big reason for it. Averaging 24.9 points per game this season, Hidalgo is having another career year and proving she just might be the best player in women's basketball.

Coming off a recent win over SMU, Hidalgo went off for 31 points, which marks her third 30+ point game and 10+ steal game as she had 11 takeaways. The recent players in women's college basketball are only one of those types of games combined.

Hidalgo is proving that she is a different kind of beast in college basketball, and while there are a lot of great players, she should be revered as one of the best.

Hannah Hidalgo can't be stopped against opposing teams

The streak of double-digit point games for Hidalgo is still going strong as she has yet to not have one in her college career. Not only can Hidalgo get it done scoring, but she also creates for her teammates, averaging 5.3 assists per game as well as 6.1 rebounds.

As a junior, Hidalgo should have a great chance to win Player of the Year in women's college basketball. The Fighting Irish are out of it yet for an NCAA Tournament spot. Sitting at 18-9 on the season with three games left, Notre Dame could make a push for the postseason.

Hidalgo is always the name scheduled on the roster for opposing coaches coming in and playing the Irish. Her ability to create not just for herself but also for others on the court is what makes her such a generational talent for Notre Dame.
