The Notre Dame women's basketball team is firing on all cylinders after their absolutely dominating win over Bellarmine 110-38, which was the seventh-largest win in program history. Not only did the team make a little bit of history, but star guard Hannah Hidalgo continues to put her name in the record books.

Hidalgo is in her third season with the Irish and has already broken the record for the most 30+ point games in Notre Dame women's basketball history. In just 22 minutes of play, Hidalgo scored 30 points against Bellarmine, which was her third time this season scoring over that mark.

Not only did Hidalgo score 30 points in the win, but she also had 10 assists and 13 steals, giving her a triple-double, which is the first 30-point triple-double in Notre Dame women's basketball history as well.

Hannah Hidalgo is the spark Notre Dame has needed in recent years

Notre Dame women's basketball is 9-2 on the season and has been floating in and out of the Top 25. Their two losses have come against No. 15 Michigan and No. 13 Ole Miss, but a win over No. 11 USC certainly is one that will boost their resume.

The Irish will now officially head into ACC play with only one other non-conference game on their schedule, and it won't be an easy one. Notre Dame will face No. 1 UConn in mid-January, hoping for a big upset.

Hidalgo is the spark that Notre Dame has needed. In her three seasons, she has not just been a prolific scorer, but her defense speaks volumes. Right now, Hidalgo leads the NCAA with 54 steals, 16 of them coming in one game against Akron, which also set an NCAA record.

Even though the Irish lost some firepower last season, they are in a very competitive ACC conference, where some key wins could help secure their spot in the NCAA Tournament. Right now, the Irish have four ranked opponents on their schedule, with the potential for more. Hidalgo needs to be ready to go as she will have to put this team on her back and lead them to the postseason.
