The worst thing that could have happened for Notre Dame after getting snubbed out of the College Football Playoff in favor of Miami would have been the Hurricanes winning it all. The Irish made a big deal about how Miami didn't belong in the CFP and Notre Dame did, so if the Hurricanes had won it all, it really would have made Notre Dame look bad.
Instead, the Irish, more importantly, Jeremiyah Love, got the last laugh. Throughout the College Football Playoff, whenever Miami won a game, they made sure to take a shot at Notre Dame, and even ESPN analysts were taking their shots as well. There was a lot of talk, but it didn't matter in the end when Miami wasn't able to finish the job.
After the Indiana Hoosiers, the team that Notre Dame is now battling for state superiority, won it all, former Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love took to social media to share his emotions on Miami losing in the big game.
His Instagram story was a black screen with the caption, "Brought a smile to my face Indiana."

Love was one player that Miami players continuously called out after their wins in the College Football Playoff. Love was very open about how he felt Notre Dame deserved to be in over Miami, so Hurricanes players made sure to let him hear it after wins.
Now, Love gets the last laugh as he is heading to the NFL as a projected top 10 NFL Draft pick, and Miami didn't win it all. The Hurricanes came close to taking down the Hoosiers, something no other team was able to do this season.
Notre Dame actually was the last team to beat Indiana when the Irish took down the Hoosiers in the first round of the 2024 College Football Playoff. That is something Notre Dame can certainly hold onto as well after the 2025 football season.
