Notre Dame football fans have long known that Jeremiyah Love was one of the best players in the country. In the first half against the Arkansas Razorbacks, the running back demonstrated why they felt that way in spades.

Following a morning where Love's story was featured on ESPN College GameDay, he came into Saturday's contest against the SEC school fresh off his best game of the year against Purdue. On both the ground and through the air, the Irish star battered Arkansas, and in the process, seemingly gave his team the edge they needed to take control in the first half.

Jeremiyah Love makes his case for Notre Dame football superstar

Jeremiyah Love started things off for Notre Dame by bullying his way into the end zone on a 1-yard touchdown run to give his team a 7-3 edge on their first offensive possession. Then he decided to hurt Arkansas through the air.

Love caught a nice 7-yard pass from quarterback CJ Carr to give the Blue and Gold a 14-3 lead.

After the two teams traded punches and Notre Dame held a 21-10 lead, Love put his stamp on the game once again. This time, catching a little toss-back pass from Carr and then weaving his way through the Arkansas defense for a 34-yard touchdown reception.

What was most impressive was that even when he wasn't finding the end zone, Love was grinding out yards on the ground and finding holes in the pass coverage to get wide open.

When the smoke cleared in the first half, Jeremiyah Love amassed 55 yards rushing on 10 carries and 2 touchdowns while also catching 4 passes for 71 yards and another 2 touchdowns through the air. You read that correctly. The Notre Dame football star had 126 total yards and four of the team's six touchdowns to help give them an incredible 42-13 lead at the break.
