Jeremiyah Love is the star of the show in South Bend. He thinks his team is filled to the brim with stars, but that isn't his favorite part about the Notre Dame Fighting Irish this season.

When Love joined the Pat McAfee Show earlier this week, he touched on exactly what makes this year's squad so special, even compared to the team that made it all the way to the National Championship game last season.

"I feel like this team is really good," Love said. "Compared to last season, the brotherhood is there more... Kudos to last year's team and what we were able to accomplish, we were able to get to the National Championship... As far as this year, this team, we're ready to go."

Is Notre Dame football more legit than 2024?

Love went on to say that his team can compete with anybody, no matter what anyone says about the Fighting Irish's viability in the College Football Playoff rankings because they're independent.

So far this season, the Irish have two losses on their record, against the Miami Hurricanes, who are now ranked No. 13 in the country, and the Texas A&M Aggies, who are now No. 3 in the country. Meanwhile, the Fighting Irish have gone on an eight-game winning streak and have risen to No. 9 in the nation.

Love's praise for his team is a huge indication that Notre Dame might actually have what it takes to win it all this season, giving head coach Marcus Freeman exactly what he took the job to do: win the National Championship.

The Irish have to play the Syracuse Orange and the Stanford Cardinal to close out the regular season, giving them a direct path to a 10-2 overall record and a spot in the College Football Playoffs.

After that, it's all about winning out and returning to the national title game, where Notre Dame has a chance to win it all because, like Love said, they can compete with anyone.
