The Notre Dame football team is looking to grab several commits from its visits this weekend. However, before anyone pulled that trigger, Marcus Freeman and company did get some very good news from one of the guys who had already given his pledge. 4-star running back Jonaz Walton wants everyone to know he’s home for good.
Walton was one of those commits that Freeman nabbed last month when the Fighting Irish were on a recruiting heater. Because he’s as talented as can be, other schools haven’t dropped off recruiting him. While he’s said before that he’s not changing his school pick, what he said this weekend should shut things down completely.
Jonaz Walton confirms he’s 'lcoked in for life,' cutting off all contact with other programs in favor of Notre Dame
The Notre Dame football commit told On3’s Mike Singer that he’s as committed as committed can be. “There’s no doubt in my mind about my decision, and I’m not communicating with any schools.”

It’s “not communicating” with other schools when programs like Alabama still work hard to get him to change. He’s someone who has been working on recruiting other kids to South Bend, so it isn’t hard to believe he is done.
By keeping him in the fold, the Irish are inside the Top 5 in recruiting classes by all three major recruiting sites. Notre Dame has 16 commits but is looking for other top-tier players to commit off of visits this weekend.
For now, it looks like the weekend went as well as it could, just with Notre Dame football keeping Jonaz Walton in the fold for good.
