The Notre Dame football team is on the kind of run that all sorts of teams would be jealous of, but there are always people who will be worried about a commitment changing their minds quickly. Jonaz Walton wants Irish fans to know they have nothing to worry about. His word is his bond.

It's not just what the 4-star running back said shortly after his commitment. However, that message to fans resonates. It's what he's said since the commitment became big news.

Jonaz Walton reaffirms Notre Dame commitment with message that shuts down flip talk

The newest addition to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish 2026 commitment class clarified that he loves South Bend shortly after giving his pledge with a two-word message: "Home forever."

The 4-star running back chose Notre Dame over some of the best teams in the country. Most of those squads were SEC powerhouses that aren't accustomed to losing recruiting battles to schools from the heart of Indiana.

They're also not accustomed to missing out on the chance to try and flip a commit. However, Walton announced on Thursday that his recruitment is done, done. While some of the best prospects in the country will pledge to a school and then keep checking things out on other campuses, Walton is cut from a different cloth.

"Following my commitment. I will no longer be taking official visits to Alabama, Tennessee, and Florida," Walton posted on X.

Both messages on social media are ones that Notre Dame football fans should absolutely revel in. The Irish got themselves a heck of a commitment in Jonaz Walton, and head coach Marcus Freeman is again looking like someone who identifies top talent and kids who understand the power of their words.
