Notre Dame football head coach Marcus Freeman is aggressively pursuing a 4-star USC commit, aiming to keep his red-hot recruiting running just a little bit longer. This time, he might have an ace in the hole in recent running back commit Javian Osborne.

The Fighting Irish are going hard after 4-star wide receiver Kohen Brown. Now that’s he’s a recent decommit from the USC Trojans, Freeman and company can add insult to injury if they can land the Waxahachie (Texas) High wideout.

Notre Dame counts on Javian Osborne to flip 4‑star WR Kohen Brown from USC

That Brown and Anderson are very good friends, according to On3’s Mike Singer means that the running back can do what he’s talked about since he gave his pledge to the Notre Dame football program.

Osborne has sung the praises of the Irish since he committed. He’s talked about how he loves what South Bend offers both on the field and after his playing days are done. And getting to play alongside one of his best friends in college has to be an attractive option.

There’s the added bonus that since Brown has decommitted from the Trojans, it’s not like Osborne is overstepping his bounds. He’s not pushing his friend to do something he doesn’t want to do, should that be a roadblock.

Now, Osborne will simply be helping his friend find the perfect landing spot. That the perfect landing spot is the Irish is just an added bonus for Freeman and company.

The next step will be trying to lock in an official visit. Right now, his schedule lines up so that he’s on an official to SMU on June 6, then USC on June 13 and Baylor on June 20. Whether he keeps his appointment with the Trojans is an open question.

Could the Notre Dame football program slide in there? That would be the optimal outcome, considering it’s likely he’ll be ready to pull the trigger for his next pledge after that trip to Waco at the end of next month. Here’s hoping Javian Osborne can work his magic and at least get his buddy to South Bend soon.
