With spring football officially in the books for Notre Dame with the conclusion of the Blue-Gold Game on Saturday, Marcus Freeman can officially turn all of his attention to recruiting. Even with his attention split, Freeman has done very well on the 2027 and 2028 recruiting trail, and things are only going to heat up.
Freeman already got a win after the Blue-Gold Game when four-star safety Zayden Gamble committed to Notre Dame, becoming the 10th player to join Notre Dame's 2027 recruiting class. Now, Freeman is hoping to get another commitment later this week, one that could really boost the Irish.
Five-star tight end Jaxon Dollar officially set a commitment date for this Friday, May 1, where he will choose between Notre Dame, Georgia, and Miami, but this feels like a battle between Freeman and Georgia head coach Kirby Smart.
2027 5 ⭐️ TE target Jaxon Dollar will announce his commitment this week.

Really good player… a major battle between Notre Dame and Georgia, two of the top programs at producing TEs in recent memory. https://t.co/BInalNziL0
5-star TE Jaxon Dollar set to announcement commitment later this week
Dollar is a top prospect in the Class of 2027, coming in at a five-star rating. The North Carolina native is ranked as the No. 33 player in the Class of 2027, the No. 2 tight end in the class, and the No. 2 player in the state of North Carolina, according to 247Sports Composite recruiting rankings.
The schools that Dollar is choosing between make all the sense in the world, as Notre Dame and Georgia are two of the top tight end-producing schools in the country, and Miami has produced solid talent at the position as well. This is a classic recruiting battle against three head coaches who have been on fire, recruiting-wise, lately.
This would be a huge win for Freeman, who has yet to land a five-star recruit in his 2027 recruiting class, so Dollar could be his first.
