Notre Dame is entering its final days of spring practices before the Spring Game on April 25, but just a few days before that, some former Irish players are going to see their NFL dreams come true. The 2026 NFL Draft is set to kick off on Thursday, April 23, and Notre Dame is looking to have a big night.

Star running back Jeremiyah Love forwent his final season with the Irish to take his career to the next level, and he is doing it at the perfect time. Love right now is projected to be a top-five pick in the draft, something that is not normal for a running back.

Love is certainly going to be a star in the NFL, with the mindset he brings to the game both on and off the field, and his natural talent that can be used by any NFL team. Even Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman could see Love branching out on the field.

Marcus Freeman could see Jeremiyah Love playing multiple positions in the NFL

Marcus Freeman joined Kay Adams on her sports show Up & Adams and spoke about all things Notre Dame football, but also about his former players heading into the NFL. Freeman spoke especially about Love and how he feels the sky is the limit for him in the NFL.

When Love came to Notre Dame, Freeman said they could have played him in any position on the field, both offensive and defensive. Love's skillset spanned across the field, and his work ethic helped him work to refine that talent, but Freeman needed him at running back, and that is where he took off.

When speaking with Adams, Freeman said he wouldn't be surprised if Love got some time at wide receiver in the NFL, saying he believes the star running back has the talent to make either a transition or play both positions at the highest level.
