For so long before the 2025 college football season started, it was clear that Jeremiyah Love was going to be the heart of this Notre Dame offense. It was clear that Love was going to be one of the best, if not the best, running backs in the country, and even after a slow start, he is showing now.
Love did not see nearly as many touches as fans were expecting him to see in the Fighting Irish's first game against Miami, only 10 to be exact, and just 33 yards. He did have 4 receptions for 26 yards, but he never found the end zone. Fans were furious over the fact that Love wasn't being used the way he should, and maybe all the offseason hype was for nothing.
Notre Dame football has one of the best in Jeremiyah Love
Marcus Freeman said Jeremiyah Love is a running back unlike he's ever been around in coaching.

Essentially, he called the Notre Dame superstar the best/most versatile he's ever seen.

Now, however, Love has kicked it into high gear and put on a clinic in Notre Dame's last three games with 56 carries for 308 rushing yards and five touchdowns. He has also been active in the receiving game with nine catches for 123 receiving yards and three receiving touchdowns.
Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman knows what Love means to this team and breaks down in his latest press conference just what makes Love so special to this team.
"We know we have to get the ball in the hands of Jeremiyah Love and good things will happen," Freeman said.
Freeman basically admitted to Love being a generational talent that he has never seen before. Getting the ball in Love's hands is the No. 1 priority according to Freeman, in any way possible, whether it is a run play or a passing play.
It is clear that Love is the biggest part of this Notre Dame offense, but what has been even more impressive is how well Love and fellow running back Jadarian Price have done in the backfield for the Fighting Irish.
