Notre Dame is primed and ready for a big weekend with the 2026 NFL Draft as well as the spring game on Saturday. Marcus Freeman will get to see some of his players' dreams come true Thursday and Friday night before helping develop dreams of his current players at the spring game on Saturday.
When asked about the NFL Draft and what advice he is giving to his players, Freeman dropped some great knowledge not just for the Notre Dame draft prospects, but for all prospects waiting to be drafted.
Notre Dame is set to have a big NFL Draft weekend
"I always tell them the same thing when they’re experiencing the draft," Freeman said during media availability. "You’re always going to go later than you expect."

Freeman is spot on when talking about the draft experience. Players always believe that they should go higher, and it always ends up that they are given a range, and they are most likely going to go more towards the end of the range. Even for a player like Jeremiyah Love, who has garnered a lot of draft hype, he could go as early as pick No. 3 and as late as pick No. 8, or even outside of the top 10.
While this advice is for Notre Dame players, every draft prospect should listen to what Freeman is saying, as he also says to enjoy every minute of it. Freeman isn't saying this as just the typical 'enjoy the moment,' but more so that once a player is picked, they have to get ready to go do their actual job the next day.
Will Marcus Freeman's NFL Draft advice prove true for this crop of Notre Dame football stars?
Marcus Freeman is going to get to see at least one, maybe even two, of his players be selected in the first round of the NFL Draft. It is basically a given that running back Jeremiyah Love is going to be selected in the first round, as early as in the top 10.
The other player that could be selected is wide receiver Malachi Fields, who helped his draft stock immensely in the Senior Bowl and in all postseason activities. There is also fellow running back Jadarian Price, who may not be a first-round pick, but could be another back taken off the board in the early rounds.
