The Notre Dame Fighting Irish entered Tuesday night nursing an eight game winning streak that saw them get back into the conversation for an at-large bid. However, they took a bit of a hit when they ran into some pitching problems against the Purdue Boilermakers.

The Blue and Gold fell to a very, very mediocre Big Ten squad, losing 11-5 and suffering their first loss in a couple of weeks. The good news is that should they manage to find their hot streak again, it will be rather impressive, considering they take on a Louisville Cardinals team that is among the best in the country.

Notre Dame Fighting Irish QB has an NFL shot

When Riley Leonard was selected by the Cotls in last weekend’s NFL Draft, there were some who thought it was nothing but a flier from a team that wanted to make some nice headlines. However, as it turns out, the team believes Leonard could compete for a job.

That doesn’t mean it’s going to be easy, but the head coach and GM both made it clear that they really do like the skills that the former Notre Dame Fighting Irish quarterback offers. Considering Indy’s current QB situation, it’s not a huge stretch.

NBA Draft decision

With the NBA Draft the next thing that’s coming up, one Notre Dame star wants to see if he could possibly make it at the next level.

Kebba Njie has entered the draft, but in a way that should he not hear that he’s going to get drafted (he won’t) he can return to Notre Dame. It’s an assessment that Markus Burton used last year. A way to find out what he needs to work on most.

Notre Dame atop the rankings

The Notre Dame football team was included in one analyst’s way too early Top 25 and was put right where they should be, considering they finished No. 2 last year. On3’s Andy Staples thinks the Notre Dame Fighting Irish should start the year as the No. 2 team in the country as well.
