It is very much a family feel for many of Notre Dame's athletic programs, and on Tuesday, that feel continued with the commitment of Nick Shrewsberry to the Notre Dame basketball program.
Hoops head coach Micah Shrewsberry currently has one of his sons, Braeden, playing for the Irish and was one of the team's top scorers the last two years. Now Nick, shooting guard at South Bend Saint Joseph will join the squad in 2026.
Over the weekend, Notre Dame's newest commitment team was in Chicago, Illinois, to face off against Mount Carmel, and while the result didn't end well for Saint Joseph, Nick Shrewsberry was one of the best players on the court.

The younger Shrewsberry is slightly taller than his older brother, and while he's a bit slender, there's plenty of time for him to add weight to compete at Notre Dame's level.
The younger Shrewsberry is a player who's extremely under the radar, though there is at least some talk that one reason he hasn't been heavily recruited is because he's long been a lock for the Fighting Irish.
Nick is certainly well respected by his opponents. Mount Carmel head coach Phil Segroves mentioned following the game that Shrewsberry was one of three players on the Saint Joseph team that he believes are Division I prospects.
With his Tuesday commitment, the Notre Dame basketball team is undoubtedly an interesting family affair with three different Shrewsberry men doing their best to lift the Fighting Irish back to the level they once lived at.
