Brian Kelly's coaching career probably isn't what he had hoped for. Kelly made it to a National Championship with Notre Dame, but he was never able to finish the job and hoist that trophy. Instead of continuing to try to improve the program, Kelly decided to flee South Bend and take the job at LSU.
In three and a half years, Kelly never got the Tigers even close to a National Championship when the previous coaches were at least able to win one during their tenure. Now with no job and honestly no prospects, Kelly is putting himself out there again, and it is embarrassing at this point.
Remember when Brian Kelly quit on Notre Dame for a school where the previous three head coaches all won national titles only to flame out there in 3.5 years while his successor in South Bend is thriving and has gotten much closer to winning it all than he did at LSU?

Good times. https://t.co/5mhhjlNCuz
Kelly had everythinghe could have wanted at Notre Dame, and he squandered it. Now, the Irish are thriving under head coach Marcus Freeman, who has already led Notre Dame to a National Championship. Like Kelly, Freeman wasn't able to bring home the win, but there is more hope than ever that he will soon.
Kelly said he would only get back into coaching if it were the right position. Well, that right position may never come. The former Notre Dame and LSU coach has shown that he struggles with recruiting, both high school and in the transfer portal, and he doesn't know how to handle a locker room.
It might be best for Kelly to work on his broadcasting career because coaching again may not be in the cards, and given his history, it would make sense. Kelly can try all he wants to try and land another job elsewhere, but it definitely won't be with Notre Dame.
While many Notre Dame fans hold a lot against Kelly, if he hadn't left, the Irish wouldn't be led by Freeman right now, so in some way, Kelly should be thanked. Freeman actually has Notre Dame fans thinking about a bright future, and that is all that matters.
