The Notre Dame Fighting Irish baseball team had yet another bad weekend, and it was after it looked like they might get off to a good one. Shawn Stiffler’s squad won the Friday afternoon game over Boston College 2-0 and held a 5-0 lead in the Friday night game going into the bottom of the first.

They blew that lead, losing the second game of the series, 6-5. The Irish then went out and lost their Sunday afternoon game to the Golden Eagles 4-3. It could be said there’s some honor in the fact that both losses were one run. However considering the Blue and Gold are now under .500 on the season, that’s unlikely to be seen as a positive in South Bend.

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish baseball team is now 16-17 overall and just 4-14 in the ACC.

Lacrosse notches a big win

The Notre Dame lacrosse team bounced back from their third loss of the season in a big way on Saturday. The No. 9 Irish took on Virgnia and won the match 12-7 thanks in no small part to a 7 goal run.

Six different Notre Dame players recorded multi-point games, with Chris Kavanagh leading the way. Kavanagh posted two goals and an assist. Jake Taylor, Matthew Jeffery and Jalen Seymour each posted two-goal outings while Devon McLane had a goal and an assist in the win.

Notre Dame Fighting Irish basketball gets its first portal commit

It’s been a bit of a slow offseason for Micah Shrewsberry’s crew but they got a big addition on Sunday. Northern Arizona’s Carson Towt has committed to the Blue and Gold. He’s the kind of big man that could replace Tae Davis as he’s quite powerful around the rim.

He’s also a bit more polished that Davis who finally came into his own this past season.

Football continues recruiting hot streak

Fresh off his spring game, Marcus Freeman is continuing a heck of a hot streak. While they had been reeling in defensive lineman at a breakneck pace, on Sunday they added a 4-star offensive lineman in Gregory Patrick.

The added bonus here is that the Patrick is the third offensive lineman from Michigan the Notre Dame Fighting Irish have added this cycle.
