The Notre Dame Fighting Irish baseball team got off to a rough start to the season on Friday, but it salvaged that start by winning the series against Florida Atlantic. Not only did they win the final two games of the series, but they blew out the Owls, so they could start the season 2-1.

On Saturday, Shawn Stiffler's squad won 14-1, and then on Sunday, once again unleashed a barrage as they won 7-1. This was more the kind of the start the Fighting Irish were hoping for when they talked over the winter.
