With Teddy Jarrard reclassifying to the 2026 class, Notre Dame is on the lookout for a new 2027 quarterback. It's possible that Davin Davidson could be that guy, as he officially received an offer from the Fighting Irish on Monday.
Davidson stands out from the crowd because of his talent, but also because of how high he stands. The Cardinal Mooney signal caller stands at 6-foot-6 and weighs in at 210 pounds.
With the new offer, Notre Dame enters the market for Davin Davidson, which has been growing quickly. He's got plenty of offers from some big schools, including Auburn, Duke, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, and Miami.
After a great conversation with @GinoGuidugli I am blessed to receive an offer from the University of Notre Dame!! @JaredClark2 @CoachJonHaskins @SageHansard @SWiltfong_ @TomLoy247 @adamgorney pic.twitter.com/5GnNwqux80

Notre Dame adds Davin Davidson to its expanding 2027 quarterback board
Davidson is the latest quarterback to draw interest from the Fighting Irish, as they also offered Kamden Lupati on the same day. This tends to be the M.O. from Marcus Freeman and Gino Guidugli.
The staff will usually home in on two quarterbacks and then make it a race between the two to see who commits first. That was how the Irish got Noah Grubbs, who was the Notre Dame program's 2026 commit before Jarrard changed classes. It was also about this time that Freeman and his crew started that race.
The Irish have their work cut out for them in the battle for Davidson. He recently talked about his plans for the spring. "I know I am going to get to Auburn, Georgia, Mississippi State, Kentucky and back to Florida in March," Davidson said. "I have their spring schedules, so in February, I will work out what days we will visit. The dates aren’t locked in yet, but the plan is to make a long trip and see those five schools."
The next step is for Notre Dame to get Davin Davidson on a visit to South Bend. It stands to reason that's in the works.
