The Notre Dame Fighting Irish hockey team has had a pretty terrible 2025-26 season. However, the squad can salvage some pride and some bragging rights when it faces off against No. 1 Michigan State for the second time this season.

The second series between the Irish and Spartans will occur this Thursday and Friday at Munn Ice Arena (Feb. 19-20). Thursday's puck drop is slated for 7:30 pm, while the Friday contest is scheduled for 6:00 pm. Both games will be aired on the Big Ten Network.

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish were swept in the earlier season series but will be looking for some payback starting this evening.

Notre Dame Fighting Irish see familiar foe head to the NFL

Speaking of old villains, the last Group of 5 coach who beat Marcus Freeman and his squad has now officially left the college coaching ranks. Northern Illinois head coach Thomas Hammock jumped to the NFL and the Seattle Seahawks, where he'll be a running backs coach. Hammock was the head coach who handed Notre Dame its only regular-season loss in 2024 in a massive upset by the Huskies in South Bend.

CJ Carr hands out Valentine's Day gifts to Notre Dame teammates

There are plenty of reasons to dislike the NIL era of college sports, but there are also plenty of reasons to like it. CJ Carr certainly enjoyed having the resources to give every single one of his offensive linemen a set of Bose headphones. It's the kind of thing that those linemen will remember when they're in the trenches blocking for Carr this fall.

Deland McCullough back in the college ranks at Oklahoma

Former Notre Dame running backs coach Deland McCullough left the Irish for the Las Vegas Raiders, but when his old boss, Pete Carroll, was fired, he wasn't retained. Now the coach who helped Jeremiyah Love and Audric Estime get to the NFL will try to do the same with the running backs on the Oklahoma Sooners.

Notre Dame women's basketball team gets a favorable Bracketology

Following a big win last week, the Notre Dame women's basketball team has to like where it stands as far as the NCAA Tournament. Niele Ivey's squad is up to a No. 7 seed in NCAA Tournament projections from ESPN and CBS, with a chance to rise even higher by finishing strong down the stretch.
