Fans will get their first opportunity to see the new-look No. 13 Notre Dame Fighting Irish women's basketball team on Monday night, as the Irish host Truman State for their annual exhibition game.

Notre Dame is led by senior and three-time All-American Hannah Hidalgo, who set the single-season NCAA steals record last season (202) and averaged 25.3 points per game, a Notre Dame record.

Monday's game will be the first in-uniform game for transfers Anaya Hardy and Madison St. Rose. Hardy is no stranger to ACC basketball, as the junior spent her first two seasons at Louisville, where she led the Cardinals in field goal percentage last year (66.7). St. Rose comes to South Bend from Princeton, where the fifth-year guard was a member of the 2026 All-Ivy First Team.

The one exhibition game comes just five days before the Notre Dame Fighting Irish basketball program tips off both the men's and women's seasons on November 1 in Rome, Italy, against Villanova.

Missouri getting its best player back

  • Head coach Eli Drinkwitz gave Missouri fans great news Sunday evening. Star running back Ahmad Hardy will return to practice this week after recovering from a gunshot wound he suffered in the offseason, the school announced Sunday.
  • Back in May, Hardy was shot in the upper leg while attending a concert in Mississippi. He was taken to the hospital for emergency surgery, and he hasn't seen the field at all this season due to his recovery. The university said that now that he's back, they'll begin evaluating when Hardy can play in a game.

Ex-Wolverine wins in first Gotham start

  • Former Michigan star quarterback J.J. McCarthy moved the ball effectively for the New York Giants in his first start of the season after coach John Harbaugh benched Jameis Winston. He completed 20 of 28 passes for 252 yards in the stadium where he led Michigan to a national title in January 2024.
  • The New York Giants beat the Houston Texans 27-21 in overtime to improve to 4-2-1, and it certainly looks like McCarthy will start for the foreseeable future.

Notre Dame Fighting Irish make people mad again

  • When the AP Top 25 dropped Sunday afternoon, it delivered exactly what everyone should have expected. With BYU losing to UCF, 39-31, in double overtime on Saturday night, the Cougars not only dropped, but also fell behind Notre Dame.
  • BYU is now No. 8, and the Irish are No. 5 in the latest poll. That development made many analysts and fans very angry, but it's a safe bet that Marcus Freeman is simply saying, "stay mad, haters."

Top Notre Dame Fighting Irish target cracks door open

  • Notre Dame football still has a pulse on Kaden Henderson's recruitment, but Marcus Freeman shouldn’t start planning a flip celebration yet. The five-star linebacker confirmed the Irish are still pursuing him, then reminded everyone that Texas A&M is still where he believes he'll be best.
  • “I love Notre Dame, and they’re always in contact with me...I felt that A&M was the best place for me, and I think it still is.”

Notre Dame Fighting Irish hockey keeps struggling

  • The Notre Dame Fighting Irish hockey team dropped a 6-3 decision to No. 20 Merrimack on Saturday, their fourth straight loss. Merrimack swept them this weekend after Western Michigan swept them last weekend. The schedule doesn't get easier as they'll take on No. 6 Wisconsin next weekend.
