The Notre Dame Fighting Irish football team continued a recruiting hot streak that's been going on for almost two full months now. On Thursday, that hot streak showed up when Marcus Freeman and Co. notched their 2027 quarterback in Teddy Jarrard.

Jarrard picked the Blue and Gold over power finalists like Georgia, Ohio State, Michigan and Penn State. This was especially an interesting win over the Nittany Lions as the two schools have found themselves embroiled in an off-field rivalry. Jarrard is the second commit for ND in the 2027 class and means Freeman is already off to a very good start.

Lincoln Riley talks USC's rivalry with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish

Just in case you thought all the talk about the USC and Notre Dame Fighting Irish rivalry was over, Lincoln Riley and Big Ten Media Days managed to spark all that back up.

Riley took a question about whether or not he wanted the rivalry to keep going and his answer was essentially, "if we can have easier schedules everywhere else, then yes, we'll play Notre Dame." the answer has been rightfully panned across the internet as yet again coming off as complaining about being in the Big Ten, while that was USC's choice.

James Frankling joins in the Notre Dame whine fest

Lincoln Riley wasn't the only Big Ten coach who complained about the Notre Dame Fighting Irish football team not being in a conference. During his own press conference during Big Ten Media Days, Penn State head coach James Franklin said that it wasn't fair the Golden Domers weren't in a conference. It's the second time in about half a year that Frankling has whined about this. It didn't work out too well the last time he did it, during the leadup to his team's loss to the Blue and Gold in the Orange Bowl.
